What Can I Expect from a Microneedling Session?

Before your treatments, we’ll meet with you for a consultation to create a treatment plan. Our caring providers will go over your medical history, skin type, and desired results to make sure that you get the most out of your SkinPen® session!

Before Treatment

We ask that you avoid skin-sensitizing ingredients like vitamin A derivatives and chemical exfoliants in the days leading up to your treatment. We also ask that you avoid shaving or dermaplaning for up to one day before your appointment, if possible. We’ll go over all the details of what you need to do to prepare during your consultation!

During Treatment

We’ll first cleanse the area to ensure that it’s free of makeup, sunscreen, or other products. Then we’ll apply a topical numbing agent. Once we start the treatment, you may feel a light mechanical vibration on the treatment area.

After Treatment

To fully reap the rewards of microneedling, be gentle with your skin during the days following your treatment by staying out of the sun and refraining from vigorous exercise. We also ask that you avoid applying anything on your skin for six to 12 hours.
